If Helios ships on time and ROCm achieves parity on the model frameworks enterprises actually use, the inference market in 2027 looks structurally different from today: Azure customers gain a credible second-source GPU option, which alone changes Nvidia’s pricing leverage on cloud contracts. The falsification condition is straightforward: if developer adoption of ROCm on Azure remains thin through mid-2026, the hardware announcement won’t convert into workload migration, and this stays a capability signal rather than a market shift.
