Bengaluru-based Superleap is betting that Indian enterprise sales teams will ditch incumbent CRMs for an AI-native alternative built around agents, voice bots, and customer intelligence, and Peak XV’s Surge just handed them $3.7 million to prove it. Founded in 2024 by former Unacademy operators, the company claims 10X growth over the past year and counts Razorpay and Aakash Education among its early customers. Razorpay migrated over 10 million data records to the Superleap platform in 45 days, a migration speed that directly challenges the switching-cost argument incumbents rely on.
What this means for your business
The CRM incumbency story has always rested on data gravity, the idea that once millions of records, workflows, and sales motions are embedded in a platform, the cost of moving is too high to justify. Superleap’s Razorpay migration directly attacks that assumption. If you’re a CRO or CMO sitting on a Salesforce or HubSpot contract renewal in the next 12 months, the relevant question isn’t whether Superleap has matched feature parity. It’s whether your incumbent can credibly claim the switching cost is still prohibitive when a competitor is migrating enterprise data at that speed.
The angel roster here, Deepinder Goyal, Kunal Shah, Gaurav Munjal among others, is doing real signaling work. These are founders who have personally run large Indian sales and revenue organizations and would have evaluated the product before writing a check. That’s a qualitatively different endorsement than a VC thesis about CRM disruption. It also means Superleap has warm intros into a tier of Indian enterprise buyers that most early-stage SaaS companies spend years trying to reach. The distribution advantage is baked in at the seed stage, which is genuinely unusual.
The risk worth watching isn’t Superleap’s product, it’s the classic platform trap: customers adopt AI agents for task automation, get good at it, and then find the underlying CRM layer commoditized by the agents themselves. If WhatsApp, Slack, and ChatGPT integrations become the primary user interface for sales reps, the CRM becomes a data store that any vendor can supply. Superleap’s defensibility ultimately lives in SuperSense, its customer intelligence layer, not in SuperAgents. I’d revise that view if the company’s retention data showed reps spending meaningful daily time inside the native interface rather than in the communication tools it integrates with.
