With 80 to 90 percent of the AI data center GPU market and roughly $194 billion in data center revenue over its most recent fiscal year, Nvidia&#8217;s Vera Rubin platform is now in full production with demand visibility the company describes in the trillions. AMD posted 57 percent data center revenue growth year over year, locked in multiyear commitments from OpenAI and Meta, and delivered the best shareholder returns of the three. Intel&#8217;s Gaudi accelerators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fool.com\/investing\/2026\/07\/25\/nvidia-vs-amd-vs-intel-which-one-actually-won-the\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">went nowhere on AI chips<\/a>, with next-generation data center silicon not expected until 2027.<\/p>\n<h2>What this means for your business<\/h2>\n<p>Your infrastructure decisions over the next 18 months are being made in a two-vendor world. If your organization is actively training large models or running inference at scale, the question isn&#8217;t whether to consider AMD alongside Nvidia, it&#8217;s whether your team has the operational familiarity with AMD&#8217;s ROCm software stack, the GPU programming environment that determines how easily developers port workloads, to actually exploit AMD pricing or availability advantages when they appear.<\/p>\n<p>The AMD story deserves a harder look than it was getting a year ago. Multiyear commitments from OpenAI and Meta aren&#8217;t marketing wins; they&#8217;re proof that AMD&#8217;s MI300 generation solved enough of the software compatibility problem that hyperscale buyers will bet capacity on it. The MI400 and Helios racks arriving later this year will test whether AMD can sustain that momentum without the supply constraints that kept early MI300 deployments limited. CTOs who&#8217;ve been treating AMD as a fallback vendor should probably revisit that posture, because the gap between &#8220;credible alternative&#8221; and &#8220;first-call option&#8221; is closing faster than most procurement cycles account for.<\/p>\n<p>Intel is a separate decision entirely, and conflating it with the GPU race is the mistake the stock market is currently making in reverse. A 340 percent stock surge built on foundry optimism doesn&#8217;t change the fact that Intel has no competitive AI accelerator shipping at volume today, and its next attempt is two years out. If Intel appears in your AI infrastructure vendor conversations, ask specifically what problem it&#8217;s solving now, not in 2027.
