Cloudbrink is betting that the browser-centric, proxy-based security stack that enterprises spent the last decade building is already obsolete, and it’s launching Veraify, its AI-native security platform, to fill the gap. The platform combines endpoint-based policy enforcement, data loss prevention, and AI agent governance into a single control plane. What this means for your business

The exposure point that Veraify is targeting is real and largely undefended at most enterprises right now. Traditional SASE and ZTNA tools, which funnel traffic through centralized cloud inspection points, were designed for humans opening browsers and SaaS apps. They can’t see what an AI coding assistant is doing at the OS level, what data a copilot is shipping to an external API, or what an autonomous workflow is quietly reading from internal infrastructure. If your security stack was finalized before 2024, you almost certainly have blind spots in exactly these places.

Veraify’s architectural claim is the part worth scrutinizing. By enforcing policy at the endpoint agent rather than at a cloud proxy, the platform promises full AI traffic visibility that can’t be bypassed by desktop applications or embedded AI features. That’s a meaningful design choice, because the bypass problem is the recurring failure mode of proxy-based DLP: users find the path of least resistance, and the proxy never sees the traffic. The commercial tradeoff is that an agent-on-every-endpoint model creates its own deployment and management overhead, which is not a trivial lift in heterogeneous enterprise environments.

Cloudbrink is a vendor pitching its own succession plan here, which creates a predictable tilt toward overstating how broken current architectures are. The SASE incumbents, Zscaler and Palo Alto among them, are not standing still on AI visibility. The sharper question for a renewal or RFP decision isn’t whether Veraify’s architecture is theoretically superior but whether your current vendor can close the AI agent visibility gap on a timeline that matches your AI adoption pace. If your organization is already deploying autonomous agents in production, that gap is live today, and “it’s on the roadmap” from an incumbent is a risk, not a plan.

Shadow AI refers to employees using AI tools, such as public chatbots or third-party copilots, that the organization hasn’t approved or can see. It’s the modern version of shadow IT, where workers used personal Dropbox accounts to move files because corporate tools were too slow. The business risk is that sensitive data, customer records, proprietary code, or internal financials gets fed into an external AI model under terms the enterprise never reviewed and can’t audit or retract.
